It’s been just over a month since Friday, March 13, when students last attended school. During that time teachers, students, and families have worked to transition to “remote learning” or “distance learning”. More importantly, we have all worked to establish new routines, understanding the importance of promoting mental and physical health and safety. Please know that the health and safety of our community is our highest priority, and that the school will continue to provide a variety of resources for all students and families. Please contact the school to learn more about resources that may be helpful to your family during this time.
While we continue to adapt to these circumstances, the opportunities for students to learn and participate in school will continue through the end of the school year. The RSU 10 Remote Learning Plan assures opportunity for all students to continue progress in their educational goals. Most students have become aware of the RSU 10 Remote Leaning Plan, and have been in contact with their teachers and are participating in learning opportunities. Using a grading system of Pass or Incomplete, high school students will have the opportunity to earn credits in their third trimester classes. The same system of Pass or Incomplete will allow middle school students to continue their learning to build a foundation for entering high school in the fall of this year or the next year. It is important for all students who are able, to continue with these opportunities. However, we recognize that not all students will be able to participate in all opportunities. Family schedules and family resources are varied. We ask students and families to work within the limits that are available.
Lastly, as we do move forward in the spring trimester, please be aware that April Break is scheduled for the week of April 20-24. The BJSHS office will be closed, except by appointment. The school will continue to be a meal pickup location, with pickup days adjusted to Tuesday (April 21), and Friday (April 24).
