We want to make our community aware that RSU 10's phone system has been experiencing an extended outage at the RSU 10 Central Office, Mountain Valley High School and Western Foothills Regional Program. Mountain Valley Community School is unaffected.

Our team is actively working with our phone service provider to resolve the issue. At this time, the problem is outside of our direct control, and unfortunately we do not have an estimated timeframe for when service will be fully restored.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue working with our provider to get this resolved as quickly as possible.

PUBLIC NOTICE: RSU 10 ESEA ED-FLEX WAIVER REQUEST

Regional School Unit 10 is seeking public comment regarding its proposed application for an Education Flexibility, or Ed-Flex, waiver through the Maine Department of Education.

RSU 10 is requesting the waiver in connection with its Title I, Part A federal funding. The waiver would provide the district with additional flexibility to retain and use Title I funds that were not fully expended during the original grant period.

If approved, the waiver would allow RSU 10 to use the remaining funds to support students with the greatest academic and educational needs. Proposed activities may include supplemental academic interventions, instructional support, family engagement, services for students experiencing homelessness, professional learning connected to Title I programming, and other allowable supports identified through the district’s Comprehensive Needs Assessment and school-level needs assessments.

The district expects that the continued availability of these funds will help RSU 10:

Provide additional academic and instructional support to students who are most at risk of not meeting state standards;
Address learning needs identified through district and school data;
Strengthen student engagement, attendance, and access to educational services;
Support Title I schools and eligible students through evidence-based strategies; and
Improve student achievement and educational outcomes.
RSU 10 invites parents, guardians, educators, students, staff, and other interested community members to review and comment on the proposed waiver.

Comments will be accepted through July 24th, 2026. Comments received will be compiled, made available for public review, and submitted to the Maine Department of Education as part of RSU 10’s Ed-Flex waiver application.
